African inspired composition needing a good deal of rhythmic energy in both wind and rhythm section. Drum solo possible.


Bruremarsj (Wedding March)  NOK 700,- Grade 4

This is the original arrangement of the composition Bruremarsj. This is perhaps Førde’s best know and most played composition. This was used as the official wedding march on the occasion of the wedding of Princess Märtha Louise and Ari Behn in Trondheim in 2002.


Domen (The Dome)  NOK 680,- Grade 3,5

Composition based on the spontaneous expression of Norwegian folk music. The melodic and harmonic solutions create a lyrical and sensitive feel. “Domen” is both written about and intended for Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, with its particular timbre and feeling of space as a backdrop.


Seterslått (Mountain Air) NOK 700,- Grade 4,5

Seterslått was composed for the Olympic Games in Lillehammer in 1994. The main theme is inspired by the characteristic tones of the Hardanger fiddle. A challenging base line is coupled with an intense rhythm. The melody line is fresh and requires a good deal of energy. Drum solo possible.


Knerteslåtten  NOK 680,- Grade 2,5

Knerteslåtten is written as a solo piece for the youngest musicians in the band. The solo parts is relatively easy to play and the main band has more challenging parts. The piece has a flexi arrangement. “Knert” is the nickname of my newborn daughter.

Ejala  NOK 680,- Grade 3,5

Lyrical composition with its roots in African music. The piece has an open section for ad.lib. improvisation.


Ndihamba nawe  NOK 680,- Grade 3,5

Ndihamba nawe is an african weddingsong and a hit in South Africa. The title means something like «I will go with you». The arrangement needs a good deal of rhytmic energy and requires a trumpet soloplayer or a tenor sax.


Mbabane  NOK 650,- Grade 3

Mbabane is written as a commission for Brass Band Aid, in England. The title Mbabane is the name of the capitol of Swaziland in Africa and is written as a choral with a groove ispired of african rhythms. The piece requires a soloist and the solo part opens up for improvisation.


Kronprinsparets bryllupsmarsj (Wedding March for the Crown Prince and Crown Princess)  NOK 680,- Grade 4

Commission for Norges Musikkorpsforbund. Written as a gift for the wedding of the Crown Prince and Princess in 2001. The piece has the tonal dialect of Norwegian folk music, joined to a rap-like centre section that demands rhythmic energy.


Friaren (The Suitor)  NOK 680,- Grade 3,5

A fresh and extrovert composition with its roots in traditional Norwegian folk music. The arrangement is in big band style and has challenging parts for rhythm and bass.


Gaven (The Gift)  NOK 650,- Grade 3,5

Gaven was written as a commission for Hegra Hornmusikk and dedicated to baritone player Geir Ulseth. Tranquil and evocative melody line over a challenging rhythm backing. The piece requires a baritone or tenor sax soloist.


Hornarven (Heritage of the Horn)  NOK 680,- Grade 3,5

Hornarven was written as a commission for the Norwegian Horn Club. The composition requires a waldhorn or althorn soloist. The piece has inherited the tonal language of Norwegian folk music and the characteristic nature tones of the original buckhorn.


Hallingmarsjen (Halling March)  NOK 600,- Grade 3,5

A march-like composition written as a commission for Nordfjordeid Skolekorps. The piece has a flexi arrangement. Melodically the composition has evident roots in Norwegian folk music. The basic rhythm from percussion and bass shapes the progression of the tune.


Lite bane (Little Child)  NOK 600,- Grade 3,5

A beautiful lullaby from North Norway. The piece requires a flugelhorn, trumpet or cornet soloist. The use of musical boxes in the intro and finale can make for a fine effect to accompany the soloist. The piece is particularly suited to performance in church.


Kjærleiksong (Love Song)  NOK 650,- Grade 3

This simple composition is lyrical in feeling. The piece is slight to begin with, then builds dynamically.


Bruremarsj frå Beiarn (Wedding March from Beiarn)  NOK 680,- Grade 4

A beautiful melody line that comes from Beiarn in North Norway. The piece requires a flugelhorn soloist. The solo part has openings for improvisation.


Sana sananina  NOK 600,- Grade 3

A lyrical and beautiful African melody. The piece is slight to begin with, then builds its dynamic dramatically. A simple African text is included so that the melody parts may be sung if desired.


Lokkeslåtten (Come Hither)  NOK 650,- Grade 3,5

Medium tempo composition with its roots in Norwegian folk music. The melody line is placed over a challenging rhythm accompaniment. Opening for solo improvisation.


Mardi Gras in New Orleans  NOK 700,- Grade 5

This arrangement is written in the marching band tradition of New Orleans. The bass line and rhythm section have challenging parts that drive the piece forward. Ad.lib. solos possible. Demanding instrumental solo parts are included.


Kesaule  NOK 680,- Grade 3,5

A fresh African melody that comes from Tanzania. The musicians also perform as a choir and a lead singer (in Swahili) is needed. Solo trumpet or sax improvisation.


Svanshornet (Svanshornet Mountain)  NOK 650,- Grade 3,5

Evocative composition with airy melody lines. The rhythm accompaniment is written in big band style and generates the progression of the tune. The title of this piece relates to a mountain on the western coast of Norway.


Sogneslåtten (Song of Sogn)  NOK 700,- Grade 4

Sogneslåtten was written as a commission for Sogndal Musikklag in 2003. The piece is inspired by traditional Norwegian folk music, whilst at the same time making use of today’s rhythm and harmony. The piece is demanding rhythmically. Instrumental solos possible.


Brazzissimo!  NOK 650,- Grade 3

Brazzissimo is relatively easy to play but the music need a good deal of rhythmic energy in both wind and rhythm section. The piece has a flexi arrangement.

A composition written for the collaboration between The Brazz Brothers and Women Unite from South Africa. Arranged in big band style and needs a good deal of rhythmic energy in both wind and rhythm section.
